Kickstand

Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and 16Wells LLC, the company that runs Kickstand. By creating an account or using Kickstand, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kickstand.

Effective October 12, 2026. Last updated October 12, 2026.

1. What Kickstand is

Kickstand is software that helps motorcycle chapters run ride challenges and chapter tools. Riders visit stops on a challenge card, take a photo at each one, and their chapter reviews it. Kickstand also offers a route planner, leaderboards, an events calendar, and member tools for chapter officers.

We are not affiliated with Harley-Davidson or the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). Kickstand is not made, sponsored, or endorsed by them. Harley-Davidson, H.O.G., and related names are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to describe who Kickstand is for.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • One account per person. Your one account can belong to several chapters.
  • Give us accurate information and keep your email current. That's how you sign in.
  • Kickstand has no passwords. You sign in with an email code, Google, Microsoft, Apple, or a passkey. Keep those accounts and your devices secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us right away at hello@getkickstand.app if you think someone else is using your account.
  • Your chapter may have added you from its member roster before you signed in. When you sign in with that email address, you'll find the details your chapter entered. You can change your own profile any time.

3. Ride safely. Always.

This matters more than anything else in these terms.

  • Never use the app while riding. Pull over and stop safely before you look at your phone, take a photo, or check in.
  • Ride safely and obey all traffic laws. Follow speed limits and road rules, and ride within your skill and your bike's limits.
  • Kickstand never asks you to ride in any particular way. Challenges are not races. There's no prize for speed. You choose where, when, how far, and whether to ride at all.
  • Route plans are estimates. Mileage, times, and stop order come from map services and can be wrong. Stops can be closed, moved, or unsafe to reach. Check roads, weather, and opening hours yourself, and use your own judgment.
  • Respect private property. Only take photos where you're allowed to be, and follow the rules of each place you visit.
  • Riding a motorcycle carries real risk of injury or death. You ride at your own risk.

4. Your chapter and Kickstand: who does what

Your chapter is responsible for:

  • its challenges: the stops, the rules, the dates, and what counts
  • reviewing and approving photos, and deciding disputes about them
  • any prizes, awards, pins, patches, or recognition
  • its rides, events, officers, and member relationships, including the member information it enters or imports
  • its dues and refunds of dues, when dues are offered
  • any ride releases or waivers, which use H.O.G.'s official wording, not ours
  • following H.O.G.'s rules for chapters, including how it handles member information

Kickstand (16Wells LLC) is responsible for running the software and keeping it secure, handling your information as our Privacy Policy describes, and supporting the chapter officers who use it.

We don't organize, lead, or supervise any ride, event, or challenge, and we're not a party to anything between you and your chapter.

National H.O.G. challenges (like 50 Rides, One Nation) appear in Kickstand to help you track them. H.O.G. runs those challenges and decides who earns them. Logging a stop in Kickstand doesn't submit it to H.O.G. Follow H.O.G.'s official instructions for that.

5. Rules for using Kickstand

You agree to:

  • Submit only your own photos, taken by you or your riding group at the stop, during the challenge.
  • Play fair. Don't reuse someone else's photo, edit a photo or its location data to fake a visit, or submit a photo from a different day than you claim.
  • Only post content you have the right to post.
  • Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate, or content that's sexual, violent, or illegal.
  • Only add someone as your emergency contact if they've agreed.
  • Respect other members' privacy. Don't copy or share other members' contact details, photos, or emergency contacts outside the chapter's use. Chapter officers use member information only for chapter business.
  • Not break or probe our security, scrape the app, overload it, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
  • Not pretend to be someone else, including a chapter officer, H.O.G., Harley-Davidson, or Kickstand staff.
  • Not use Kickstand to send spam or ads, except through our sponsor program.

Chapters can reject photos and remove members who break their rules. We can remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

6. Your photos and content

You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and other content you post.

You give us a license to store, copy, resize, display, and share your content, but only to run Kickstand and only as your settings allow:

  • Your chapter's reviewers and officers can always see photos you submit to their challenges.
  • Other chapter members can see your approved photos only if you turn on photo sharing.
  • If you turn on photo sharing, your chapter's officers may use an approved photo as a challenge banner inside Kickstand.
  • If a challenge you're in has a public page, it follows your leaderboard name setting.

This license is worldwide and royalty-free. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already used as a chapter banner (we'll remove those if you ask) and copies in backups until they expire.

We don't use your photos in our own marketing without asking you first. We never use member photos to create AI images.

Feedback: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.

7. Sponsors and ads

  • Kickstand shows sponsor ads, mostly from Harley-Davidson dealers and local businesses near challenge stops. Ads are images and links only, always labeled "Sponsored."
  • Sponsors don't get your personal information. They get totals of views and clicks.
  • We don't endorse sponsors. Anything you buy from a sponsor is between you and them.
  • Sponsors and advertisers who buy ads from us agree to separate sponsor terms.

8. Payments, renewals and refunds

  • Chapter plans (currently $99 a year for the Challenge plan and $299 a year for the Chapter Platform plan) are paid through Stripe.
  • Plans renew automatically each year until canceled. A chapter officer can cancel any time from Manage billing in the app; the plan stays active until the end of the year already paid for.
  • We don't give partial refunds for the unused part of a year. If something isn't right, email hello@getkickstand.app and we'll work it out with you.
  • We can change our prices at any time. A new price applies to new purchases right away and to existing plans from their next renewal.
  • Chapter dues (coming later) are paid to your chapter through the chapter's own Stripe account. The chapter is the seller, sets the price, and handles any refund.
  • Sponsor and advertiser invoices are paid through Stripe and covered by the sponsor terms.
  • App Store purchases are handled by Apple and follow Apple's terms and refund process.

We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles it.

9. Our content and trademarks

Kickstand's software, design, text, and logos belong to 16Wells LLC or our licensors. You can use them only to use Kickstand. Don't copy, sell, or reverse engineer the app. Map data comes from Google and from OpenStreetMap contributors and follows their terms.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It's part of these terms.

11. Ending your account

  • You can stop using Kickstand any time and ask us to delete your account at hello@getkickstand.app.
  • We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Kickstand. We'll give notice when we reasonably can.
  • If a chapter's plan ends, the chapter's tools may become read-only or be removed.

12. Changes to Kickstand and these terms

We improve Kickstand often, and features can change or end. When we change these terms, the app shows you the new version and asks you to accept it before you keep using Kickstand.

13. Disclaimers

Kickstand is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we don't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that map data, distances, routes, or stop details are correct. We're not responsible for chapters' decisions, prizes, rides, or events, or for services run by others (maps, sign-in providers, Stripe, sponsors). To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, 16Wells LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Kickstand. Our total liability for any claim about Kickstand is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

15. Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against 16Wells LLC because of content you posted, the way you used Kickstand, or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.

16. Disputes and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects how disputes are resolved and means you and we give up the right to go to court or to a jury trial.

  • Talk to us first. If you have a problem with Kickstand, email hello@getkickstand.app. Most things can be sorted out quickly. Before either of us starts arbitration, we'll both try in good faith to resolve it for at least 60 days.
  • Then binding arbitration. Any dispute about Kickstand or these terms that we can't resolve informally will be settled by binding arbitration run by the American Arbitration Association under its rules for consumer or commercial disputes, whichever applies. One arbitrator decides. Arbitration takes place in Cook County, Illinois, or by video or phone if you prefer.
  • One at a time. Disputes are handled individually. Neither of us will bring or join a class action, class arbitration, or other group claim against the other.
  • Exceptions. Either of us can bring an individual claim in small claims court instead, and either of us can ask a court to stop misuse of our intellectual property or security.
  • Courts. If arbitration doesn't apply for any reason, any case must be brought in the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois, and we both agree to those courts.

Governing law. The laws of the State of Illinois and the Federal Arbitration Act govern these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

17. Other terms

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Kickstand. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given it up. You can't transfer these terms to someone else; we can transfer them if Kickstand changes hands. We're not responsible for delays caused by things outside our reasonable control.
