Set up a challenge in 15 minutes
Open challenge setup from Home, create a draft (or clone last year's), add your stops, pick a card size, and schedule it. A computer or tablet makes this easiest.
Steps
- On Home, under You manage, tap Chapter admin and challenge setup.
- Tap New challenge, enter a Title, Start date, and End date, then tap Create draft. Running it again? Pick it from Clone a past challenge instead. That copies the stops and settings and moves the dates ahead one year.
- Check the dates under Details. Tap Save dates if you change them.
- Under Featured image, tap Upload, or Generate with AI and then Generate 4 options. Pick one and add alt text.
- Under Stops, type in Search for a place or address and tap Search. Pick a result, check the Card label and Photo target, add Photo instructions (where to stand, what must be in the shot), and tap Add stop. You can change any of these later with Edit on the stop. For a mural or statue, tap Add by hand and click the exact spot on the map.
- Under Card layout, pick a Card size. The one marked "suggested" fits your stops.
- Under Who runs it, add a reviewer or manager if you want help. Managers can open setup for the challenges they manage (from Home, Set up the challenges you manage); reviewers only see the review queue.
- Tap Schedule (opens on the start date).
Good to know
- The challenge opens and closes on its dates by itself, in your chapter's time zone. If the start date is today or earlier, scheduling opens it right away.
- New stops fill the next open square. To move one, type a number in its Square box.
- Each stop's GPS zone sets how close a photo must be to count as a match, as a hint for reviewers.
- If the screen says Google search isn't connected yet, use Add by hand for new places.
- AI images are made without logos or text. The screen shows how many you have left this month.
- Every stop you add is saved under Places for next time.
- Riders join with your invite code, found under Members (invite link). The app doesn't announce new challenges yet, so share it in your newsletter or at a meeting.
- Want to spread the word? Under Public page, turn on a page anyone can see and share. You choose whether it shows the stops, the rider count, and the leaderboard. Riders then get a Share button on their card.
